The direct aim of studying the question mark is to help the child recognize that a question mark signals an interrogative sentence.
The indirect aims include:
Contents:
Pgs. 2-3: Presentation Suggestions Lesson Resources
Pg. 4: Possible Extensions
Pgs. 5-7: The Question Mark Sorts L1-L2
Pgs. 8-9: The Question Mark Task Cards 1-8
Pg. 10: The Question Mark Sorts Controls
Pg. 11: Terms of Use
Suggestions for Storage - Presentation Suggestions Pages: I recommend printing the presentation suggestions and extension ideas and housing them in plastic sleeves within a binder. Any additional resources (key experience cards, alphabet strip, etc.) can be placed inside the sleeve as well for easy access when it’s time to present.
Suggestions for Storage - Controls: I suggest printing these out and placing them in sleeves within a binder as well. As the students complete sorts, they can then easily reference the controls to check their work.
Suggestions for Storage - Sorts: I recommend printing these out on cardstock and laminating them if you are expecting extended use. Each card within a particular sort is color-coded and labeled in the bottom right-hand corner. Place all the cards within a particular sort (ex: H2) in an envelope, plastic container, or drawer system. Be sure to label whichever storage option you choose. This will allow the students to independently select their work.
