Patriotic Women of the American Revolution
When studying history, it’s important for us to actively investigate the roles that women played in the events that shaped our modern world. In this material, children will be introduced to:
- Sybil Ludington
- Martha Washington
- Mercy Otis Warren
- Phillis Wheatley
- Abigail Adams
- Deborah Sampson
- Penelope Barker
- The Daughters of Liberty
When completing this work, the child should begin by sorting all the cards and placing the pictures across the top of their rug or table. They then read the labels and biographies and match them to the pictures.
When finished matching, the child should check their work using the control before recording the work in a journal. This includes writing the label, drawing a picture, and paraphrasing the biography. Children are encouraged to conduct additional research!
Print the material on cardstock, cut on the dotted lines, and laminate if possible.
