Word Study: Compound Words Matching Cards
The direct aim of the compound word study is to help children recognize longer words composed of two root words. On occasion there will be a connection between the individual root words and the compound word they form (ex: headache), but this is not always the case (ex: brainstorm.)

The black and white and colored sets are interchangeable. Use whichever meets the needs of your students best. The colored cards act as an additional visual cue to differentiate the two root words. The black and white cards can be printed on a particular color of paper to differentiate them from other word study sets.
This set contains a total of 112 compound word matches.
I recommend printing the materials on cardstock and laminating them for extended use.
